Govt to carry out inspection on Tuesday before re-opening of Ïewduh

Shillong, Jun 15: The state government would take a final call on re-opening of Ïewduh, the biggest market in the state, after carrying out a joint inspection on Tuesday.

For the past three months, big shops and stalls have been shut down following the national lockdown imposed to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters on Monday that he along Health Minister, A L Hek, Urban Affairs Minister Hamletson Dohling, Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War and Deputy Commissioner Matsiewdor War, will carry out the joint inspection in the presence of representatives of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC), Syiem of Hima Mylliem and Greater Association of Ïewduh Market.

“After the inspection, the government will take a call whether or not to re-open the market,” Tynsong said.
