Shillong, Dec 7: Three promising footballers from Meghalaya — Eiladki Ksoo, Ibashembha Khongsit and Ibadarihun Nongsiej — have been invited to participate in the selection trials for the Indian U-17 women’s national football team, scheduled to be held in Bangalore.
The trio earned the call-up on the basis of their impressive performances in the recently concluded Meghalaya Women’s State League. Eiladki and Ibadarihun represented Laitkor, while Ibashembha played for Mawlum Tyrsad.
Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) President Hamletson Dohling congratulated the players, stating that their achievement reflects the growing strength of women’s football in the state.
“This achievement speaks to their dedication and to the growing strength of women’s football in our state,” Dohling said. “It is encouraging to see young athletes stepping forward and taking their place on larger platforms.”
He encouraged the three to approach the trials with confidence and humility. “Whatever the outcome, this opportunity is well deserved. Wishing them all the very best,” he added.
The trials mark an important step for the young athletes as they aim to break into the national squad.
