Three more succumbs to COVID-19 in Meghalaya, 161 persons test positive

Shillong,Sept. 17: Three more COVID-19 patient died in Meghalaya, taking the fatality count in the State to 32, while 161 more persons tested positive for COVID-19, taking the number of active cases to 1983 on Thursday.

DHS (MI) Dr Aman War on Thursday evening informed that,Tiwani thapa (74) from Barapathar, Lawrence Lyngkhoi(72) from Shyiap and Dewanti Thapa (60) from Mawbah died with COVID 19 symptoms.

In East Khasi Hills district, 105 new cases were reported (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: 02 and others 103 ), Ri Bhoi 09, West Garo Hills 12 (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: 06 and others 06 ) , west Khasi Hills 01,  East Jaintia Hills 28, East Garo Hills 02, South West Khasi Hills 01 and South Garo Hills 03.

Out of 1983 total active cases, in East Khasi Hills 1319 (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: 245 and Others : 1074). In west Khasi Hills District 13 cases , Ri Bhoi district 166 (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: 47 and Others : 119),South West Khasi Hills 05, West Jaintia Hills district 10, East Jaintia Hills district 265, West Garo Hills district 160 (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces: 70 and Others :90), South West Garo Hills district 14, South Garo Hills district 18, East Garo Hills district 05 and North Garo Hills district 08.

New recovered cases 78 were reported , East Khasi Hills 37, North Garo Hills 03,  Ri Bhoi 03 ,South West Khasi Hills 01, West Garo Hills 29, West  Jaintia Hills 04, South west Garo Hills 01, total recovered 2342.

The total COVID 19 cases so far recorded in the state is 4,357 which includes  thirty one deaths due to COVID-19 have been reported so far.
