Nongpoh, October 26: The roads of Mawlyndep village in Ri-Bhoi District roared with excitement as the Adventurous Hynniewtrep Off Roaders (AHOR) successfully organized the 7th Edition of the 4×4 Offroad Challenge 2025, an event that once again captivated motorsport enthusiasts from across Meghalaya and beyond.

The offroad event, renowned for its extreme and rugged terrain, showcased the strength, power, and agility of specially modified vehicles, thrilling thousands of spectators who gathered to witness the daring skills of the participating drivers.

Special offroad tracks were designed with steep slopes, deep pits, narrow passes, and even water crossings at the Umiam Lake section, putting both the drivers and their vehicles to the ultimate test. Despite the tough conditions, competitors navigated the obstacles fearlessly, drawing cheers and applause from the crowd.

This year’s challenge saw participation from 58 vehicles divided into three categories — 7 in the Pro Modified Category, 29 in Semi Modified, and 22 in Stock Category — involving a total of 116 drivers and co-drivers from various parts of Meghalaya and other states of India.

The grand event also marked a decade of AHOR’s foundation, making it a particularly special celebration for the organizers. The competition was held in collaboration with the Meghalaya Tourism Department, reflecting the growing recognition of offroad motorsports as a key tourism attraction in the state.

The final day, held on October 25, concluded with a colourful closing ceremony graced by Bah Paul Lyngdoh, MLA of West Shillong Constituency, who also handed out prizes and trophies to the winners.

Semi Modified Category:
Bah Lickstar Marbaniang – ₹1,00,000 + Trophy, Bah Leonard Mawrie – ₹70,000 + Trophy, Bah Houston Hujon – ₹50,000 + Trophy

Stock Category:
Bah Barry Umdor – ₹50,000 + Trophy, Bah Pullstar Langstieh – ₹30,000 + Trophy, Bah Balajied Dorphang – ₹20,000 + Trophy

The event ended on a high note with cheers from the audience, celebrating not just the winners but the spirit of adventure, skill, and unity among offroaders of Meghalaya.
