Shillong, July 27: Lok Sabha MP from Tura, Conrad K. Sangma spoke in Parliament regarding the problems being faced by Regional Vocational Training Institutes (RVTIs) in general, and specifically the problem faced by the RVTI, Tura.
The RVTI at Tura was sanctioned during the time of late Purno A. Sangma when he was the Union Labour Minister.
According to Conrad, the RVTI is facing a number of problems including issues of not having a permanent principal for the past few years.
“There is even shortage of faculty in the institute and the infrastructure is also not upto the mark and have not been maintained well in the past few years,” he said.
A few months back representatives from the institute had met the Tura MP and appraised him all issues and problems being faced by the institute.
The Minister responded positively and mentioned that the Government was aware of the problems and assured that issues would be handled and taken up at the earliest.
