Shillong Mar 24: Members of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) has constituted a coordination committee to ensure consultations and understanding among members on various issues.
The Committee will also provide suggestions to the Executive Committee and watch its functioning.
Chief Executive Member (CEM), Titosstarwell Chyne told reporters on Tuesday said that his main priority is to streamline the functioning of the Executive Committee for the interest of the Council and the people as a whole.
“I also want to bring a system of functioning by holding consultation and understanding. There are issues that require consultations among the MDCs of the UDA, and there are issues we also have to discuss together with all the MDCs,†Chyne said.
He assured that his EC would function without any partiality and ensure transparency and accountability.
On ensuring stability of the EC, the CEM said that members of the UDA has constituted a Coordination Committee which comprised of senior MDCs who would frequently discuss various issues and watch the functioning of the EC and provide suggestions in order to ensure understanding among the members.
The senior members who are part of the Coordination Committee include Bindo M Lanong, Teiñwell Dkhar, Martle N Mukhim, Lambor Malngiang and Bah Gigur Myrthong.
Asked about the Deputy CEM post, he said that the post will go to the NPP as decided and there will be not much change in the list of Executive Members from the previous EC.
The list of MDCs who would be appointed as Executive Members (EMs) would be submitted to the Governor on Wednesday.
Asked about the budget estimates of the KHADC for the year 2020-2021, he informed that he would discuss with the officers to under the financial position of the Council.
He also informed that the UDA has stuck to its decision to get Pynïaid Sing Syiem elected as the Chairman of the KHADC.
At present, Pynshngaiñlang N Syiem is the Chairman of the KHADC.
