Shillong, Nov 30: The UDP claimed that it is gaining strength in Garo Hills.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, UDP secretary, Lindin Ch Momin said that the party has welcomed Sengkal A. Sangma, a socio-political leader from Dalu who has joined the party on November 7,along with his supporters in the presence of Utpal Arengh, District President UDP and Lindin C. Momin, District Secretary UDP. He contested the last Assembly elections as an Independent candidate.
“After having increased his support base, he is now seeking a ticket from UDP to contest the upcoming election. He is confident that the anti incumbency factor coupled with the party ticket, will definitely boost his potential of securing the seat,” Lindin said.
