Shillong, March 2 : Unhappy with the illegal transfer of the council’s money to private bank accounts and failure of the KHADC CEM P.N Syiem to provide reply to the petition submitted by UDP, a delegation of the party met the Governor on Thursday to discuss on Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council affairs. The party, led by UDP leader Bindo Lanong who is the chairman of the sub-committee on KHADC affairs, submitted a memorandum to the governor about various anomalies in the council. The party also enclosed the copy of the party petition along with memorandum. Later Speaking to the media, Lanong said that the governor while accepting the memorandum sought documentary evidences from the party to substantiate the charges levelled against the CEM. The party will provide all the papers pertaining to issue shortly, Lanong said.
