Shillong, Nov. 4: An unidentified human skeleton was recovered on October 30, 2025, from Rachi Forest in Mookyndur Village under West Jaintia Hills District, police sources confirmed.

Authorities conducted all necessary legal procedures, including an inquest at the site. However, the identity of the deceased remains unknown.

During the examination, police recovered several items near the skeletal remains, including a red thread, three keys, and a safety pin, which may aid in the investigation.

The West Jaintia Hills Police have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the deceased.
