New Delhi , Apr. 16: Veteran journalist S. Nihal Singh passed away on Monday.

Singh, who would have turned 89 on April 30, is known for his several books, which are acclaimed worldwide.

He was editor of The Statesman, the Indian Express and Khaleej Times.

According to media reports, he was suffering from brief illness.
