Shillong, Sept.8: For public convenience and better administration, the Government of Meghalaya has created a new Police Station at Lumshnong in East Jaintia Hills District to be known as the Lumshnong Police Station. On creation of the Lumshnong Police Station, the areas coming under its jurisdiction shall cease to be under the Khliehriat Police Station. This was informed by the Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Police) Department.

Villages falling under the Lumshnong Police Station include Chehruphi, Thangskai, Wahiajer, Lumshnong, Umstain, Tongseng, Lum Tongseng, Sakri, Sonapurdi, Symplong, Myrli, Kuliang, Purtakuna, Umkiang, Wahkoh, Dona Bhoi, Dona Skur, Dona Umblu, Ratacherra, Malidor, Lumphyllut, Lumsoski, Borsora, Lejri, Baskuna, Lailong, Huroi, Hingaria, Umrasiang, Umlong, Arthyrnia, Moosiang Lamare Old and New, Brichyrnot and Khaddum.
