Shillong, Oct 25: Chief minister, Mukul Sangma has described sitting Congress MLAs who deserted the party as “turncoats” and said that the party would ensure their defeat in the upcoming Assembly election.
“One by one you name them, we will ensure their defeat. We have collected inputs and we know their positions. Electoral battle is not a battle which is so easy, so simple,” Sangma said while reacting to a query.
He said that the reason for ‘turncoats’ to look at the other side was because they have self centric agenda.
“We know how to reach out to the electorates and how to ultimately take on them during the electoral battle. We have very strong candidates against all these turncoats. The Congress has shown its capacity to deal with such kind of situation,” the chief minister said.

On ‘Mission 40’ which the BJP aimed at winning 40 seats in the upcoming election, Joshi said, the BJP has a number of missions and they can have wonderful imagination.
On BJP leaders meeting Church leaders, Joshi said, “in democracy it always works on ideologies and commitment, but that reflects their position in democracy. In order to woo votes, they go to any extent. In 2014 they said, they will deposit Rs 15 lakh in every account. They say they would provide 2 crore jobs, have they?”
