Shillong, Oct 25: The AICC will use inputs received from party workers in framing election manifesto and use the information as strategies in the upcoming Assembly poll.
“I am happy that good suggestions have been given, and we will use these inputs while framing our election manifesto and use the information as election strategies. With the feedback that I got, I am confident that Congress will once again win and form the government,” AICC general secretary in-charge Meghalaya C.P. Joshi told reporters here on Wednesday.
Joshi held a series of discussions at the Congress Bhavan here with Congress MLAs, members of district councils, office bearers of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee, district and block committees, frontal organisations and party workers, and took inputs from them on various issues including the ban on coal mining by the National Green Tribunal.
Joshi said that party workers have also given inputs that the state government has implemented effective programmes which help in addressing livelihood of the people of the state.
On coal mining ban, the AICC leader said that the party would reach out the people and clear their apprehension since rumours have been spread that the Congress-led government was responsible for the ban on coal mining imposed by the NGT.
Joshi also asked the BJP and Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to come and announce in Meghalaya that coal mining ban would be resolved before the state goes to the Assembly election.
“If they (BJP) are so confident, they should announce before the election, and have the mandate. They cannot influence the voters. The Prime Minister’s false promises have been exposed in the entire country,” he said.
