Shillong, Oct 25: BJP national secretary in-charge ST Morcha, Hayithung Bill Lotha alleged that chief minister Mukul Sangma is one of the most “corrupted” chief ministers in India.
“Unfortunately for the people of Meghalaya, Mukul Sangma today is counted as the most corrupted chief minister in India,” Lotha said while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.
He said that he was shocked to learn that even in his (Mukul) own constituency in Ampati, roads are full of potholes and big cracks.
“Most of the state resources have been diverted to Ampati. I want to question the CM, where has all the money vanished when roads in Ampati have become like a fishery pond where people can even do fishing,” he said.
The BJP national secretary further stated that the chief minister has also turned out to be a “master of false commitment and promises.”
Citing an instance, he said that that even the creation of new districts before the 2013 MLA election, but till now no infrastructure has come up except creating of district magistrate offices.
“Mukul has also become a master of public announcement. He has a daily habit of going around the entire Meghalaya to announce creation of new sub-divisions. C&RD, new schools, new roads, new hospital…he is busy laying foundation stones in the last 6 months because he has been sleeping in the past years,” he said.
Referring to setting up of two medical colleges as announced by the chief minister, he said that the BJP wanted to know how many Meghalaya students are studying there.
