Shillong, Apr 30: Workers Power of Meghalaya (WPM), a federation of 18 unions, along with the Thma U Rangli Juki (TUR) will host the 2nd Workers Convention in the state capital on May 4.
The convention will be held at the Bharat Scouts & Guides, Laban.
Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, WPM general secretary, Kenneth Swer said that the convention would discuss various grievances faced by the workers.
Resource persons and legal experts from Delhi will also speak on labour laws, rights and strategies.
Swer informed that a help desk would also set up to assist workers who seek to have better understanding about issues like maternity leave, overtime payment, enrollment of workers under the Employees State Insurance (ESI) and other entitlements.
