Helping Young People Entertainment to hold Hills Fest

Shillong, Oct 14: The second edition of the Hills Festival will be held for two days at Lum-Er-Pyngngad, Umbir, a famous picnic spot in Ri Bhoi district on October 18-19.

The festival is being organized by the Helping Young People Entertainment (HYPE) headed by Sahi Majaw.

Gerald Duia, in-charge of public relations, informed on Monday that the objective of the festival was to promote local musicians keeping in mind that Shillong has got a lot of talents.

“Local talents will be provided the same platform to perform with international artists,” he said.

A total of 17 artists including 12 bands will perform at the festival.

Duia informed the festival will also featured Jai Waetford, the winner of Australia X-factor, 2013, DJ Mansus and DJ Surreal.

He said a special act will also be performed by the wedding band comprising of farmers from Smit village.

Duia said in line with the government’s campaign against plastic use, the festival would use only eco-friendly products while encouraging visitors to carry their own re-use water bottles.
