Shillong Dec 9: Leader of Opposition of the Meghalaya Assembly, Dr Mukul Sangma has launched a black badge protest against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

The protest was launched prior to the Leader of Opposition addressing a press conference at the Congress Bhavan in Tura on Monday.

The opposition party will organise similar protest at various blocks and districts.

Opposing the CAB, Dr Sangma said, ” despite various groups from the Northeast opposing the bill and articulated their concerns, yet the NDA government went ahead in tabling the Bill in Lok Sabha.

The Lok Sabha passed the CAB after a long discussion.
