Shillong, Jan 7: Two persons were arrested along with heroin from Khliehriat, the district headquarter of East Jaiñtia Hills District.

Superintendent of Police, P Vivekanand Singh said that acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the anti-narcotic task force (ANTF) East Jaiñtia Hills, ANTF West Jaiñtia Hills and Khliehriat Police Station intercepted silver color Maruti Alto Car (WB-02W-8025) and recovered 14.83 gms heroin from two occupants regarding a drug deal scheduled to happen in Khliehriat.

The SP said that the persons identified as Md Zakir Hussain Laskar (32) and Imranul Hoque Laskar (27) from Khelma village in Assam were arrested and a case has been registered against them.

Investigation is going on.
