Shillong Jan 27: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma is camping in New Delhi to pursue with the Centre the issue related to the Inner Line Permit.

Sources said that the chief minister wanted to pursue the matter and get back to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to have an audience with the state delegation on the ILP issue.

In December last year, Shah had asked the Meghalaya delegation to come to New Delhi and discuss the issue after Christmas.

However till date, Shah is yet to fix the date for a meeting with the Meghalaya delegation.

The Meghalaya Assembly had on December 19 passed the resolution urging the Centre to implement the ILP system in Meghalaya under the Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulations, 1873.
