CISF Launches Major Welfare Initiatives for 1.6 Lakh Personnel and Families

New Delhi, September 5, 2025 — The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has rolled out a series of welfare initiatives aimed at improving the well-being of its 1.6 lakh personnel and their families. With an earmarked fund of over ₹100 crore, the measures are designed to provide financial relief, educational support, and enhanced medical care.

A dedicated online welfare portal, scheduled for launch on September 1, will allow personnel to apply for loans, scholarships, and medical reimbursements in a faster and more transparent manner.

Key Benefits

Loans: Maximum limit increased to ₹5 lakh with interest reduced to 3% (earlier 6%). Repayment period extended from 3 to 5 years.

Medical: Full reimbursement for out-of-pocket expenses under Ayushman CAPF and CGHS.

Scholarships:

DG Scholarship extended—wards securing 80%+ will receive ₹20,000; 90%+ will receive ₹25,000.

Wards of martyrs to receive ₹10,000–₹20,000 (earlier ₹6,000–₹18,000).

No cap on beneficiaries.

Retirees:

Risk savings benefit raised to ₹1.25 lakh (earlier ₹75,000–₹80,000).

Ex-gratia funeral aid increased to ₹35,000.

Unit Welfare:

Refreshment allowance raised to ₹50 per head.

Special diet allowance for Republic Day/CISF Day parade hiked from ₹60 to ₹100.

These reforms are in line with CISF’s ongoing digital transformation drive, which has already introduced online pension processing and an e-service book system to ensure timely settlement of dues and easy access to service records.

Senior CISF officials described the measures as a “decisive step to safeguard the welfare of personnel and their families,” noting that the initiatives set a new benchmark in welfare governance across India’s paramilitary forces.
