Shillong, Oct 7: There were two emphatic victories in the Meghalaya Women’s State League 2025 yesterday, as Laitkor SC and Jakrem SC registered dominant wins in their respective groups.
Laitkor SC thrashed Attacker’s Youth Club 6–0 in Group A, while Jakrem SC swept aside local rivals Mawten SC 5–0 in Group B. The other fixture of the day, between Young SSCC and Bright Future SSCC, ended in a goalless draw, also in Group B.
At the SSA Stadium in Shillong, Laitkor’s Iaraplang Nongrum (67’, 75’, 86’) netted a superb hat-trick, with Inrila-i-dor Khongthaw (12’) and Sukrilin L. Marshillong (22’, 25’) also on target. This marked Laitkor’s second consecutive victory following their win in the season opener against Na Rympei FA, while it was the debut match for Attacker’s YC from the Ri-Bhoi District Sports Association.
In Mawlum Tyrsad, two Pyndengumiong DSA sides — Young SSCC and Bright Future SSCC — played out a stalemate in the first game. Later, Jakrem SC, representing the Mawkyrwat DSA, triumphed over fellow district side Mawten SC thanks to goals from Savinity Jyndiang (25’), Catherine Kharkongor (27’, 73’), Lavinia Lyngkhor (51’) and Rosemary Wahlang (83’).
The next fixtures will be played on 10 October, both in Group B. Mawlum Tyrsad SC will face Mawten SC at 12:00 PM, followed by Mawsawrit SC taking on Bright Future SSCC at 2:30 PM.
