Shillong, November 13: Former MLA and MDC from Nongkrem Constituency, Bah Lambor Malniang, officially joined the National People’s Party (NPP) on Wednesday at a function held at the party office in Shillong.
Bah Lambor was warmly welcomed into the party by senior NPP leaders, including Bah Prestone Tynsong, President of the NPP Meghalaya State Unit; Ma Sniawbhalang Dhar, National Vice President; and Bah Hamletson Dohling, Working President. The event also witnessed the presence of hundreds of supporters and well-wishers from across Nongkrem Constituency.
In his address, Bah Lambor said his decision to join the NPP came after much reflection and consultation with the people of his constituency. He expressed concern that Nongkrem had lagged behind in development and stated that he believed the NPP offered the right platform to bring about meaningful change.
“Nongkrem has remained far behind in development. I decided to join the NPP because I see that this party has a clear vision and mission to work for the welfare of the people,” he said.
He further mentioned that his move was made with the blessings and support of his constituents, grassroots leaders, and supporters who shared his vision for progress.
“This is not just my decision—it is the wish of the people of Nongkrem. With the guidance of the NPP leadership, I believe we can bring real development to our area,” he added.
Bah Lambor expressed confidence that with collective effort and unity under the NPP banner, the party would secure the Nongkrem seat in the 2028 elections and continue to serve the people with dedication.
