Shillong, May 4: Meghalaya have announced an 18-member squad for the Swami Vivekananda U-20 Men’s National Football Championship 2026, set to be held in Narainpur, Chhattisgarh, with experienced youth coach Jeffrey Warlarpih at the helm.
Placed in Group A, Meghalaya will face Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand in the league stage. The team will open their campaign against Bihar on May 9.
The side heads into the tournament with growing confidence, having reached the semifinals last year after a group-stage exit in 2024, reflecting steady progress over recent editions.
The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) today organised a send-off ceremony for the squad, where General Secretary Sunesh Syiem, Vice-President Cliff Nongrum and senior members Dipshon L. Nongbri and Freddy Kharpran extended their best wishes to the players and support staff.
