Jorabat, June 4: Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda (JP Nadda) on Thursday inaugurated the ARHI Hospital at 11th Mile, Jorabat in Ri-Bhoi district, in the presence of ministers, government officials and members of the public.

The ARHI Hospital is a multi-super-speciality tertiary care institution established with the objective of providing advanced and specialised healthcare services to the people of Meghalaya and the North Eastern region. The hospital offers a wide range of medical services, including cardiology, oncology, neurology, orthopaedics, emergency and trauma care, along with other modern healthcare facilities.

Meghalaya Cabinet Minister and MLA of Pynthorumkhrah constituency A.L. Hek, who is also the Chairman of ARHI Hospital, expressed happiness over the inauguration of the new healthcare facility. He said the primary goal of the hospital is to provide quality medical treatment within the state, reducing the need for patients to travel to Assam or other states for specialised healthcare.

Speaking on the occasion, JP Nadda lauded the efforts of the team behind ARHI Hospital and stated that institutions of this nature would significantly strengthen healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality medical services for the people of the region.

He added that improved tertiary healthcare facilities in the Northeast align with the broader national goal of strengthening health systems and ensuring accessible, affordable and quality treatment closer to people’s homes.

With the commencement of its services, ARHI Hospital at Jorabat is expected to emerge as one of the major healthcare centres in Ri-Bhoi district and Meghalaya, offering comprehensive medical care to patients from across the state and neighbouring areas.
