New Delhi, August 28: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Drone Federation of India (DFI) to strengthen security at critical infrastructure against emerging aerial threats.

The MoU was formally signed on August 28 by Dr. C. D. Naik, DIG (Principal), MPRTC, on behalf of the CISF, and Smit Shah, President, Drone Federation of India, in the presence of Praveer Ranjan, Director General, CISF, senior CISF officers and representatives of DFI.

As part of the collaboration, RTC Behror will be developed as a Centre of Excellence for Drone and Counter-Drone Systems. The initiative is aimed at enhancing the CISF’s preparedness to detect, monitor and respond to potential threats posed by unauthorised or hostile drone operations around vital installations.

The collaboration is expected to support the Force’s modernisation efforts by strengthening expertise and capabilities in drone technology and counter-drone systems, which are increasingly important for the protection of critical infrastructure.

The CISF has also called for the initiative to receive extensive coverage in regional media to highlight the Force’s modernisation measures, build public confidence and create greater awareness about the security risks associated with unauthorised drone operations near vital installations.
