SHILLONG, SEPT 5: UDP leader and Adviser to the Social Welfare Department, Paul Lyngdoh, on Saturday said the ongoing crackdown on narcotics is showing results.

Speaking on the drug menace in the state, Lyngdoh said the government has taken the fight against drugs to all stakeholders, including dorbar shnongs and educational institutions.

“The Social Welfare Department has for the first time gone to various educational institutions. The arrests, raids and the amount of narcotics seized show that we are getting results,” he said.

He said the department is working closely with civil society organisations to eradicate the drug menace from the state.
