SHILLONG, OCT 3: Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar has termed as unfortunate the derogatory posters targeting Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home Prestone Tynsong and East Khasi Hills SP Vivek Syiem.

The posters came up across Shillong on Friday, a day after the Khasi Students’ Union exposed alleged illegal money collection from truckers at Mawkhanu and Thangshalai.

“It is not good to see all these types of posters of the respective VIPs. The SP has said it very clearly,” Dhar said on Saturday.

He said people should approach police through proper procedure if they come across any illegality.

“If there is anything wrong somewhere, they can go through proper channel by filing an FIR. That is the process. It is sad for me to see those types of allegations,” Dhar said.

“We should respect each other,” he added.

The posters at Mawlai, Mawkhar and Motphran alleged that while common people withdraw money from ATMs, Tynsong and Syiem withdraw from trucks.

SP Vivek Syiem has already ordered an inquiry and announced suspension of constables posted at the two sheds.
