SHILLONG, OCT 15: The KHADC Executive Committee is clearing financial liabilities and contractor dues as and when funds are available, EM in-charge Finance Seiborlang Warbah told the Council on Thursday.

Replying to a query by Ramrai MDC L. Kharbani, Warbah said, “Yes, as and when funds are available.”

Kharbani sought to know how much is pending to contractors and why payment is delayed.

Responding, Warbah said, “The bills are still reaching my table. From our side, we want to complete it quickly because as we have seen, the 15th Finance Commission demands that we complete many UCs.”

He said pending Utilization Certificates have held up the process.

“Due to reasons that we could not complete, the bills have reached me. The scrutiny, how much is still pending, I have not yet received information and I need Notice,” he said.

On fund release from the Government, the Finance EM informed, “As of now, the 2nd installment of the 15th Finance Commission has been released by the Government.”
