Shillong, April 3: Zenith Sangma Meghalaya Excise Minister on Sunday said the state government will amend the existing excise rules in line with the Supreme Court order.
“There is a need to amend the excise rules in line with the latest Supreme Court order which exempted Meghalaya and Sikkim due to the unique topography, We will do it as soon as possible in consultation with the Law department and the government,” he said.
Supreme Court had exempted Sikkim and Meghalaya from the 500-metre cap on liquor vends alongside highways on 31st March.
