SHILLONG, AUG 11: The State ANTF arrested two persons and seized 32.64 grams of heroin worth an estimated ₹5 lakh in two operations at Umiam on August 10.

Acting on intelligence, ANTF set up NAKAs to intercept traffickers heading to Shillong, SP Vikash Kumar said.

In the first operation, a car AS-01-AV-1166 was stopped at Lad Umiam.

Occupant Allan Marwein of Mawlai Nongkwar was found with 10.93 grams of heroin in a soap case.Later, a scooty ML-05-AB-9546 that tried to evade the NAKA was intercepted. Rider Jaziel Nongjop Syiem was caught with 21.71 grams of heroin hidden in his jacket.

“Both substances tested positive for heroin and were seized under the NDPS Act. The accused were arrested,” Kumar said.
