The candidates in the second list include, Blatsbor Kharpran from Mawryngkneng constituency, Renikton Lyngdoh Tongkhar from Mawkyrwat constituency, and Droistar Khongsti from Sohra constituency.
A resident of Sohryngkham, Kharpran retired as branch manager of the Meghalaya Rural Bank. He was also the president of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) Sohryngkham unit.

According to HSPDP leader in-charge media cell, Londoner M Sohtun, the third list would be released soon.
Last month, the HSPDP had released the names of 10 candidates in the first list.
The HSPDP forged a pre-poll alliance with the United Democratic Party (UDP) for 36 Assembly seats in Khasi and Jaiñtia region.
Of the 36 assembly constituencies, the UDP will be contesting from 27 seats and its alliance partner – the HSPDP will be contesting from 19 seats.
According to seats adjustment, 17 seats have been reserved for the UDP and 10 seats for the HSPDP. However nine constituencies have been categorized as “open seats” where both the UDP and HSPDP would field their respective candidates for a “friendly fight.”
The UDP is likely to start releasing its list of candidates this week.
