Shillong, Jan 22: The ruling Congress will convene a meeting of the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) to screen names of aspirants for party ticket here on Tuesday.
AICC general secretary in-charge Meghalaya, C.P. Joshi will also attend the meeting, likely to b held at the residence of chief minister Mukul Sangma.
Joshi has arrived in the city on Monday evening.
The PEC is a 13-member panel headed by MPCC president, Celestine Lyngdoh. Chief Minister, Lok Sabha MP, Vincent H. Pala, Advisor to the MPCC, D.D. Lapang are among the members of the PEC.
The PEC will recommend names of probable candidates to the screening committee of the AICC for final approval.
The Congress will put up candidates in all 60 Assembly seats.
