Shillong, Apr 22: Balmanduri FC produced a dominant display to defeat Attong Matgrik FC 7-1 in Group G of the Meghalaya State League 2026 at Williamnagar today.
This was the only match scheduled, with the remaining groups taking a short break before action resumes on Friday. Group G, which has five teams, features a tighter schedule compared to other groups.
After losing their opening match on April 18, Balmanduri bounced back in emphatic fashion, netting four first-half goals through Goodnear Marak (21′), Jurisbirth Marak (30′), Ganapati Rabha (41′) and captain Chichang M Momin (45′).
They maintained the momentum after the break, with substitutes Nilaybhumi Rabha (70′) and Dipunjay Rabha (75′) adding to the tally, while Jurisbirth struck again in the 81st minute to complete his brace and take the score to 7-0.
Attong Matgrik managed a late consolation when Sunil M Marak scored in the 85th minute — their first goal of the season after two earlier defeats without scoring. The result leaves them at the bottom of the Group G standings.
The next fixture will see A’chik SCO Rongjeng take on Janepih YSCA tomorrow at 3pm, again in Group G.
