BJP chief will not address public meeting in Meghalaya, 7 sitting MLAs will meet Amit Shah

Shillong, Sept 9: The Meghalaya BJP said that seven sitting MLAs have conveyed their desire to meet BJP national president, Amit Shah who will visit state on the 28th of this month.
Meghalaya BJP president, Shibun Lyngdoh on Saturday said that the sitting MLAs from different parties including Independents wanted to meet Amit Shah personally during his visit to the state.
Besides, the two Independent MLAs, Justine Dkhar and Robinus Syngkon, five other sitting MLAs from the Congress and regional parties would also met him, he said.
Lyngdoh said that state BJP stood by the statement of BJP leader in-charge Meghalaya, Nalin Kohli’s statement, who had assured that the party would find out ways and means to solve the problem related to mining issue within six to eight months, if voted to power in Meghalaya next year,
Meanwhile, Lyngdoh said that there will be no public gathering during the visit of the BJP national president, Amit Shah to the state on September 28 and 29 but only indoor meetings would be held as the visit coincided with Puja celebrations
Shah may arrive in Shillong either by helicopter at the advanced landing ground, Upper Shillong or by a chartered plan at Umroi airport.
On September 28, Shah would lay wreaths on the triangular monument built in memory of three freedom fighters, U Tirot Sing Syiem, U Kiang Nangbah and Pa Togan Sangma in the State Central Library, to be followed by inauguration of the newly built BJP office at Oakland here.
After inaugurating the party office, Shah will meet Church leaders in the presence of some State BJP leaders, besides discussion with intellectuals, and separate meeting with office bearers of the state BJP.
On September 29, Shah will leave for Nagaland. He might also visit Tripura.
Shah is visiting the three poll-bound states – Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura as part of the preparations of the BJP for the Assembly elections in these states slated to be held early in 2018.
