Shillong, Nov 22: BJP Mahila morcha national general secretary Pooja Mishra has slammed the Congress-led government in the state for its failure to implement various Central government schemes in the state.
“I feel bad that various schemes of the Centre are not properly implemented in Meghalaya,” Mishra, who is on her five-day visit to the state, told reporters here on Wednesday.
Alleging poor implementation with regards to Jan Dhan scheme, she said that banks in Meghalaya are asking people to maintain Rs 500 to Rs 3000 after they opened zero balance account, which is not the case in other parts of the country.
She said it should have been the prerogative of the state government to write to the centre on this matter as the purpose of the scheme is to open zero balance account. “There is no fault on our scheme,” she added.
Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had come up with schemes to empower women in the country, Mishra said, “There is no gas connection under Ujala scheme , no maternity leave and Rs 6000 to be given to pregnant women. All rubbish things are going on here.”
According to her, there is no development in Meghalaya despite the fact that the DONER ministry is doing very well in the North East region.
Claiming that the BJP is making its presence felt in the state, Mishra said now the people in the state know who is Modi and lotus as the symbol of the BJP which is a good sign.
Giving credit for some good roads in Meghalaya to three years rule of the BJP government in the country, she said that youth in Meghalaya wanted change and the change would definitely come to Meghalaya.
