Shillong, April 15: UDP – 18 West Shillong Constituency committee has welcomed over 80 members from different units of Block Congress committee members into the party’s fold on Saturday.
Gerald Shullai, organizing secretary of UDP Shillong West constituency told media persons that unit members of the Block Congress committee from Them Mawbah, Lumlyer, Lama Villa and Pdengshnong have the joined the regional party of their own accord.
General secretary of Lumlyer Unit T. Lyngkhoi, asserted that the members were sidelined and there is no cooperation in the functioning of the party unit.
Predicting a bleak future for the Congress, he said there is no stability and good governance as desired by the people and masses have lost confidence in the ruling party.
