Chief Minister inaugurates Multi Facility utility Centre

Shillong, Aug 9: Chief Minister, Mukul Sangma on Wednesday inaugurated the Multi Facility Utility Centre at Mawkhar in the presence of Minister, Health & Family Welfare Roshan Warjri and Minister, Urban Affairs, R V Lyngdoh.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister, Dr Mukul M Sangma said that Mawkhar being located at a strategic location, the asset will be of use to the adjoining areas as well. He also said that the value of the asset that amounts to 1 crore 68 lakhs surpasses the quantum of investment that has been put into the Multi Facility Centre and urged the residents of the locality especially the youth to use the centre for meaningful and productive purposes.
Dr Sangma said that the youth are the most vulnerable to all kinds of vices as they have access to facilitators of all criminal activities. He called for the need of engagement of the society to deal with these challenges and the need to insulate the youth by engaging them in multiple productive activities. He also stated that the centre can be used to have access to G2C (Government to Citizen) and B2C (Business to Consumers) services.
“Meghalaya has created positive stories in the last few years because the people have demonstrated maturity, understanding and wisdom making a turnaround in the state. There is a need to sustain the momentum of growth and prosperity that commensurate to our potentiality,” he said. He urged all to collectively come together to achieve this shared and common objective by aggregating strengths and ideas for the welfare of the state.
Earlier, Rangbah Shnong, Mawkhar, W H D Syngkon gave the welcome address.
Among others who spoke at the Inauguration were Minister, Health & Family Welfare, Roshan Warjri and Minister, Urban Affairs, R V Lyngdoh. Also present were Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Affairs, Dr Shreeranjan, Commissioner & Secretary, Urban Affairs, F R Kharkongor and Director, Urban Affairs.
