Clarification on the alleged false accusation

Shillong,May 18: A member of the BJP, Tony Marbaniang on Wednesday expressed dissatisfaction against the party vice president JA Lyngdoh’s clarification on the alleged false accusation made against the former.

Addressing a press conference here, Marbaniang, who is also eyeing for a BJP ticket from North Shillong constituency said that he would go ahead with his proposed demonstration against Lyngdoh.

According to him, the issue is no longer about the election but it is about his image which has been tarnished due to the allegations made by Lyngdoh that he would withdraw his candidature for money.

Earlier this week, Marbaniang had filed an FIR with the Sadar Police Station along with video evidence against the BJP vice president. He had alleged that Lyngdoh had made the allegations against at a meeting held at Oakland recently.

Yesterday, Lyngdoh had denied making such accusations and even claimed that Marbaniang is not a member of the BJP.

“I am the only one in the fray for the party ticket and this person (Marbaniang) is also not known to me,” Lyngdoh had told reporters.

However, Marbaniang said that he has document to proof that he is a member of the BJP. He had enrolled as a member of the party in January earlier this year.

Though he is yet to apply for the party ticket, he however said that Lyngdoh cannot claim to be the only ticket aspirants since the party is yet to announce its official candidates.
