Shillong,July 26: A wreath laying ceremony was held at the Rhino Heritage Museum, shillong cantt today morning to pay homage to martyrs of the 1999 Kargil war and commemorate the glorious victory of the Indian armed forces in operation Vijay.
The focus of the solemn ceremony was paying homage to late Captain Keishing Clifford Nongrum, MVC whose exemplary courage and sacrifice led to the capture of pt 4812 in Batalik sector in one of the decisive battles of the war.
Lieutenant general Depinder Singh Ahuja, General Officer Commanding 101 area and senior army offi-cials laid wreath on the martyr’s memorial during the ceremony. Mr Keishing Peter Nongrum and Mrs Saily Nongrum, parents of late Captain Nongrum, MVC and his other family members were also present
on the occasion.
