Complaint lodged against persons for blaming Mukul, Deborah in NCP’s candidate killing

Shillong, Feb 21: A complaint was lodged against three persons who allegedly blamed chief minister Mukul Sangma and education minister, Deborah Marak behind the killing of NCP candidate, Jonathone N. Sangma in social media.

The complaint was filed by one Helpingstone G. Momin, an election agent of Deborah on February 19.

Momin said that Sengbath Ch Marak, Tengse Momin, Borwnstrawman Sangma and others had created a Facebook page in the name of (L) Jonathone N. Sangma and alleged that Deborah was responsible for the assassination of the NCP candidate from Williamnagar.

The accused – facebook users also alleged that the chief minister and the minister has given Rs 80 lakh to GNLA to assassinate Jonathone and that they are blackmailing the voters.

When contacted, East Garo Hills District Superintendent of Police, Ringrang TG Momin said that a case has been registered and an inspector is conducting the investigation into the matter.

“Police are trying to identify the persons (facebook users) involved and accordingly action will be taken as per law,” the SP said, adding that the facebook page is yet to be blocked pending investigation of the case.
