Shillong, Nov 7: Elementary school teachers who are pursuing their Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) have decided to stage sit in protest along with black flags at Additional Secretariat Parking Lot here on Thursday.

In a press statement, Meghalaya SSA Schools Association (MSSASA) general secretary, H.M. Marbañiang said the association was not satisfied with the 1st D.El.Ed results declared by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) on June 22 this year which was also the third time that the result has been declared after numerous errors and anomalies.

The MSSASA has appealed to all D.El.Ed trainees of the 1st batch 2013 to participate in the sit in demonstration and reach the venue on time.

The Association has on October 4, served a legal notice through the Director of Directorate of Educational Research & Training (DERT), T.G.Momin and sought the State government’s intervention with regards to the ‘incomplete’ D.El.Ed result declared by NIOS.
The Association also demanded that fresh result be declared within October 31 this year, but both the Meghalaya government and NIOS, Noida were adamant.
