Khliehriat , April 8: Jaintia Student Movement today held a public meeting at Khliehriat (West) in collaboration with many NGOs from the whole of Jaintia including HANM-JHD,HYC JHD, AJPM,EJNC, AJYWO KJNU, MPUF, MIYF and others.
NGOs demanding Govt. colleges in East Jaintia District fr the educational stability and to check the dropouts in the District .
Mr,Leningstar Rymbai,President JSM-CB showed his deep concerned about the drop outs children in the District where the fact is that,parents could no longer give them the support to send their children to private college “The question is what will be the future of the children”he said. Further, he seek the support of the public also for the future of the children and youth.
In this regard memorandum has been submitted to Roshan Warjri Minister of Higher Technical Education,Deborah Marak Education Minister and to shri Justine Dkhar,local MLA.
Mr. Daman Lathong, president HYC-JHD also urged the people of EJHD to come forward for demanding the Govt Colleges and Wanshwa Suting, President,AJYWO-EJZ said that in EJHD there are so many schools but children from poor family are nowhere after classes nine or ten because parent could not send them to continue further study to some private colleges in EJH.
Mrs.Perina Nongtdu,cried while giving speech as she is a woman who could not continue for B.Com because of financial problem as parents could not afford her to send to Jowai for further study,in fact she is eager to study,she said that it would have been a great advantage especially for the poor family if the government considered one college in EJHD.
The leaders who gave speech in the meeting were,Mr.N.Shadap,president KJNU, Teilang Dkhar,member JSM, Shaniah Suchen,President HANM-JHD, R.D.Paul Rymbai, President AJPM, Biker Chyrmang President MIYF, Mrs Pynskhem Pyrngap, kong Semi Khongtiang.
