East Jaintia Hills District gets its first Child Line Center

Khliehriat June 09:The District Administration in collaboration with the office of the District Child Protection Khliehriat,on Saturday inaugurates Child Line Centre for East Jaintia Hills District, minister of Social Welfare Kyrmen Shylla attended the inaugural programme as a chief guest along with other  government  officials .

Shylla,thanked the Deputy Commissioner,the District Child Protection Office and other departments,stake holders for this child line centre in East Jaintia Hills and said “I believe that this is a right place for those abandoned children”He urged one and all to monitor children and to have a good responsibility for the future of the children

Related with drug adict,he said that some facilities will bring out  to help the addict.while related with education,he said that the Government will try to provide free and compulsory education to children below 14 years old.

Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills District F.M.Dopth  gives words of thank to all those who had been strongly contributed to bring out this child line in Ladrymbai,who had shown their dedication towards this.

Further the Deputy Commisioner himself was dedicated and hardly worked out even in the midst of various circumstance in a District yet he struggled hard to bring out this particular part which is for the welfare of children.


He urged all the staff who work in Child Line to work with love,commitment,dedication for the future of the children “The children are the future so we need to strengthen them right from theit childhood”

Teibor Kyndiah,District Child Protection Officer Khliehriat,gave a brief explanation about the works of Child Line as a message to all the people people that “Child Line is a National 24 hours free,phone emergency outreach service for children in need of care and protection.Child Line is supported by the Union Ministry of Woman and Child Development and link State Government,NGOs,Allied System and Corporate sector”

He thanked the Deputy Commissioner for his hard work,the Jowai Diocese for giving a plot of land at Good Shepherd Ladrymbai,he thanked Shri Shibor Wahlang,local Director Max Cement Mynkre for donating cement for construction and Shri Oli Pariat,Civil Engineer,for some engineering works and other stake holdres who had been freely contributed a lot for this Child Line in East Jaintia.

He said that “We were taking a sharp decision with good faith and a kind of sacrifice to make this child line come up in the District in order to help the poor children,the abandon children and to promote them in a better way,I thank God that this is a blessing to the society as a whole”T.Kyndiah added.

Before the inauguration prayer session also conducted by Rev Fr.Victor Bareh along with the solemnly spray of  holy water by Fr.Manbha Pakem.
