Shillong, Dec 4: Former candidate of the United Democratic Party (UDP) from Umroi Constituency, First Force Deki Ramsiej along with supporters will officially join the National People’s Party (NPP) at its office here on Tuesday.
Earlier, the UDP had already declared the name of Ramsiej as its candidate in the first list from Umroi constituency, and later denied him ticket. The UDP has now allotted the ticket to Mangakara Pathaw, the son of former chief minister, J.D. Ryngbai.
Ramsiej had recently opposed the fresh decision taken by UDP by allotting ticket to Pathaw.
In a statement issued here, the NPP said that the party would organize a programme to felicitate Ramsiej, who is the former vice-president of the UDP Umroi Circle, along with his supporters.
