Shillong, 31 OctobMeghalaya is gearing up to host one of India’s most spectacular cultural celebrations as Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma officially unveiled the grand lineup and expanded vision for the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival 2025, scheduled for November 14–15. With world-renowned artists, immersive cultural experiences, and a citywide festival atmosphere, this year’s edition promises to be the most vibrant yet.
Speaking to the media in Shillong, the Chief Minister said the event will once again turn the city into a buzzing international destination. The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will serve as the main stage for a power-packed musical lineup, while a series of activities and performances will enliven Ward’s Lake, Polo Grounds, and other iconic locations across the capital.
Global Superstars Set to Light Up Shillong
The 2025 festival boasts one of its most impressive artist rosters to date, featuring a mix of global icons and home-grown talent. Headliners include:

Diplo – three-time Grammy-winning DJ and producer

A special emotional highlight will be a tribute to legendary singer Zubeen Garg, led by celebrated musicians Zublee, Priyanka, Prabin, and Arupjyoti.

“The Cherry Blossom Festival has become a defining symbol of Meghalaya’s cultural identity and innovation,” Sangma said. “With every edition, we grow stronger, more dynamic, and more connected to the world.”
Record Footfall Expected
With prestigious recognitions such as the Golden Banyan Award at The Week Heritage Awards 2025 and two Gold Awards at the WOW Awards Asia 2025, the festival continues to cement its status as one of India’s most celebrated cultural events.
Sangma expressed confidence that the festival will draw over 50,000 tourists, noting that visitors spend more time exploring local attractions, eating at local businesses, and engaging with the community—providing a strong boost to Meghalaya’s economy.
Smooth Travel, Enhanced Infrastructure
To ensure a seamless experience for festivalgoers, the government has introduced improved traffic management plans, including vehicle-free zones and expanded parking facilities.
“Tourism is a journey of continuous improvement,” Sangma said. “We’ve invested heavily in infrastructure, and the results are showing.”
