Shillong,May 27: The draft Meghalaya Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill would soon be placed before the state cabinet for its approval.
According to sources, the Bill has been prepared and it has been sent to the law department for examination.
“Once it (Bill) is ready, it will soon be brought to the state cabinet for its approval,” a senior government official said here on Friday.
The official said the Bill will accordingly be taken to the State Assembly for consideration.
Earlier, GST Council had urged all the states to speed up approving the state GST laws by the end of this month. It may be mentioned here, the target date for rolling out the historic tax reform all over the country is on July 1.
