Shillong Feb 01: Hill State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) supremo Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit today slapped a legal notice against the NPP candidate HS Shylla demanding him to immediately tender an apology within 48 hours.
The legal notice sent by Basaiawmoit’s counsel LC Mukhim on Thursday was after Shylla had recently alleged that the HSPDP chief, who is also a sitting legislator from Nongkrem, is the “agent†of chief minister Mukul Sangma.
Shylla, a sitting MDC and who will be contesting against the sitting MLA, in a meeting held recently, had also alleged that Basaiawmoit and also the United Democratic Party (UDP) chief Donkupar Roy are meeting the chief minister after 11 pm.
“The legal notice has demanded him (Shylla) to immediately tender his apology within 48 hours,†HSPDP media cell in-charge Londoner Sohtun said in a statement issued here.
A legal notice was also served to a local daily for publishing the statement made by Shylla with a demand to clarify the same within 15 days.
