Shillong, Jun 5: The Hill State People Democratic Party (HSPDP) today slammed the chief minister Mukul Sangma for alleging the two regional parties United Democratic Party (UDP) and HSPDP, which have agreed to fight the 2018 elections together, of having a “backdoor-alliance” with the BJP.
“His (CM) allegations only reflect that he is in a confusion state of mind, and worried about the pre-poll alliance between the two regional parties (UDP and HSPDP),” Chairman of the HSPDP Media Cell, Londoner M. Sohtun said in a statement issued here.
Refuting the allegation, he said that the HSPDP which has recently agreed for pre-poll alliance with the UDP, had maintained that its stand to ensure a non-Congress and non-BJP government in the state.
“But nevertheless, it is interesting to see reports which instead indicated Sangma’s joining the BJP,” he said.
He said that the BJP-led NEDA is not part of the HSPDP-UDP alliance, and the HSPDP is not even a member of the NEDA as alleged by the chief minister.
