Shillong, Feb 28: Justice Sudip Ranjan Sen will take over as Acting Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court on March 3, according to an official notification.
Justice Sen will take over from Justice Tarun Agarwala, who held the post for less than a month.
Justice Agarwala was appointed Chief Justice on February, 13.
The notification said that the President has appointed Justice Sen to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the Meghalaya High Court with effect from March 3.
Justice Agarwala’s retirement brings the number of High Courts functioning without a full time Chief Justice to ten, as per the Department of Justice website.
