Shillong, Jan 10: Twenty nine Karatekas from Meghalaya bagged the overall runners-up trophy in the Kanninjuku National Shoto Cup Karate Championship and Training Camp, 2017 held at Sanjan, Gujurat from December 29, 2017 to January 2, 2018.
They all represented under the banner of All Meghalaya Karate – Do Association led by Mingson Rymbai and Arjun Sewa as coach and manager respectively.
The Meghalaya state team bagged the overall runners-up trophy winning 24 gold, 17 silver and 15 bronze medals.
In a statement issued by general secretary of the Association, Hunlang Lytan, the Association congratulated the players for being able to win medals in the championship.
